Father’s Day must be tough without the father, especially the first one. As my parents move through their 70s, I’m trying not to think about it.

You and your dad both look very happy in those pictures. I especially like the last one.

That last picture is my favorite as well. I was taking pictures of him in his uniform so he could send them into the Army for their annual review of the JROTC instructors. When we finished his pictures, he set the camera on timer and suggested that we take a picture together. We had a lot of fun that day.

As parents get older it is tough, but there is an opportunity for some really great bonding. Keep making fond memories!

Era, keep those memories with you all the time, in your heart, and your dad will always be with you. My dad died in 1987. I miss him, but I have SO many fond memories! Your dad was happy being with you! 🙂

I didn’t realize that Luisa. From your many mentions of him I can tell that he was a wonderful father. Thank God for our fond memories! 🙂

Those pictures are great. I never saw a baby picture of you before. Also, it’s my 1st father’s day without my father as well.

Those pictures were in seriously old school technology. Recently my brother has been converting the slides to digital pictures so I just happened to have a few on hand.

The day was a little surreal at times. I hope your fond memories helped you through as well.

You hit the nail on the head. He was the strong silent type like many of his generation. But he had his ways of letting us know how much he loved us and how proud he was of us.
