Era: thanks for checking out my blog today and thanks for the encouragement of reading your blog; it really flows with a smoothness like Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat, Pray, Love.” Actually, this is how I would write if I could actually write. It was interesting reading about your family’s connection to India and the West Indies….I just named your first book. I expect “props” during your Oscar acceptance speech for best screenplay. Take care.

Thanks, Slyram. You flatter me with talk of Oscar night. That being said, if it happens I’ll give you a shout out 🙂

Hello. You addressed “why does my picture look like that?” on your Author page. I imagine the question you get asked most is “What does Era mean, and why did your parent name you that?”

BTW, I’ve been to Heidelberg, Germany. I married an army brat. My wife Teresa was born at Ft. Brag, NC, and lived in West Germany ’till she was 9. Her mom then relocated to Ft. Gordon in Augusta, GA, before recently returning to Germany for another 6 years. We spent Christmas in the Fatherland in ’07.

Hi Clark, thanks for visiting my blog. Era is my mother’s name. It was to be Eva but in 1928 when a relative was sent to register the birth, the registrar spelled it as Era. So that’s the name we both have.

Say Hi to your wife for me. My brothers went to highschool in Heidelberg but I left when very young. I hope to return someday.

Your mother’s name was meant to be Eva. So Era’s an error (lol).

I’ve added pics from our Germany trip to my blog, and given you a shout out as well. Take a look:
