If I Didn’t Know Any Better…

Eskimo in Belly Shirt 2

…I’d think they were trying to fatten me up.

I’ve been living in Texas for about a month now.  During this time several friendly neighbors have come over to visit and introduce themselves.  And they haven’t been coming over empty handed.  They’ve come bearing gifts.  And not just any gifts – but gifts of food.  And not just any kind of food – they have come with gifts of dessert! *oops did I just drooled a bit – sorry*

If only I had taken the picture before we devoured the peach pie.  If only I had taken a picture of the chocolate chunk walnut cookies before my hungry family wiped them off the face of the plate.  And for the record, the chocolate cake in the following picture no longer looks like thbears that perfectly round appearance.  It more resembles the pie – or what’s left of the pie – te he 😮 .

Our new neighbors have definitely made us feel welcome.  Thanks Neighbors!

Welcome to Texas! That’s what we do to the new people on the block. Actually it’s not really to be nice it’s just that we are that nosey and what better way to get into your house than with food! I always bake a banana bread to give myself! 🙂

Thanks ! I know what you mean lol. So far only one neighbor has accepted the invite to come in, though. I guess I’m gonna have to dust off the old apron and start baking – I see that nearby house was just sold!

That’s awesome! In one of my neighbors’ defense, we did once get cookies. They were leftovers from her kid’s bake sale — but still. Your neighbors sound delightful and delcious!
