Hotlanta!

Atlanta is considered a hot and happening place.  We certainly enjoyed our time there.

This is Hubby’s office (the Atlanta branch of course).  Cool word wall!  I wonder, can I do something like this in my house?  Hmmmmm…

After we left Hubby to get some work done, we went sight seeing.  Guess where?

CNN Sign

See that globe with the metal frame sticking out of it?  The metal is the framework of the tallest free standing escalator in the world –  8 stories high (80 ft).  We rode the escalator into the globe and began our CNN tour from there.

The guide took us (and all the other touristy folks) on a behind the scenes look at CNN operations.  Of course, they wouldn’t let us take pictures.  Grrrrr!!!!

Tony Harris was the news anchor on the air during our tour.  We got close- but not that close.

I was actually hoping that T.J. Holmes would have been the on air anchor at the time.  But he works weekends and this was a Monday afternoon.  It was for the best anyway.  It would have been awkward being carted off by security in an attempt to get his autograph.  Hi T.J.!!!

TJ Holmes

At the gift shop we were able to snag a few shots with a cardboard cutout of Wolf Blitzer and a large picture of Anderson Cooper.  Wolf actually works out of the Washington D.C. office and Anderson works out of the New York office.  The pictures with Ali Velshi and Sanjay Gupta’s cardboard likenesses didn’t come out for some reason.

Jasmine makes Wolf crack up, don’t you see his smile?  Actually he looks a little stiff today.  Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Anderson, why so serious all the time?

The Atlanta hotel we stayed in on our way to Austin had this great outdoor area.

Hotel Pavillion

It had a nice view too.

The Atlanta hotel we stayed in on the way back to Florida also had an awesome view of the city.

 It was a fun trip!!!

Wow, all of the stuff you got to see and do will help you guys figure things out, right? I am happy you all had a great time with the area. I have only been there once, at the airport. I did not get to go sight seeing. 😦

Perhaps on a return trip you can try the Coca Cola factory, CNN, and Centennial Park.
